Coating rods are used primarily in production processes and in laboratory settings. Used to apply a variety of coatings or emulsions to a multitude of substrates, rod construction is as diverse as their uses. Wire Wound Rods Wire wound rods are a stainless steel rod wrapped very tightly with stainless steel wire, and are used to apply even, wet film coatings on various surfaces. Wire wound rods are available in various wire sizes, diameters and lengths up to 12 feet.
